I have been an animal lover all of my life, and growing up I cannot remember a time when I didn't have a dog, cat, bunny, horse or basically anything I could talk my parents into having. While I've had a successful career in the creative world of graphic design and photography for over 25 years, my dream has always been to breed dogs. It all began with the purchase of my 9 year old Goldendoodle (pictured above) named Kea (named after a Greek Island). I bought her as an 8 week old puppy and she has not left my side since that day. I was so smitten by the "doodles" right from the start because of her happy and people oriented personality, her non aggressive temperament and non-shedding coat that I just fell in love. When you have a doodle you start knowing doodle people, this is where I realized that doodles were being bred without goals and breed standards in place for things like coats, temperaments, and health considerations. Breeders where just matching any Poodle and Lab/Golden together and the results were basically "willy nilly" and all different sizes, coats and temperaments. So my dream began with research on how to breed a quality "Doodle" for family pets or therapy that were constant in temperament, health, coat, and size. That is when I chose to breed the Australian Labrdoodle.
Because I've owned my own business, I know what it takes to start one, for me, doing it right was very important. My motto has always been "do it right or don't do it at all". I spent over a year researching pedigrees(which is actually never ending), breeders, and owners then I finally purchased my first two females. Although I am a fairly new AL breeder, I am not new to animals, dogs, or knowledge. I also had many experienced, top breeders mentoring me, and helping me make good choices in the beginning. Now after many years of breeding these dogs my program is making a positive influence to enhance and improve the Australian Labradoodle breed into the future.
The Australian Labradoodles
we are breeding today need to be the best quality because they are the
foundation of this breed. These dogs will carry on the breed for many many generations to
come and for me that challenge of building a breed is very much what thrills me.
Sunrise Australian Labradoodles is registered with both US Breed Associations, the ALCA and the ALAA. We do more then the required health testing and breed to the ALAA Gold Paw Standard for all our breeding stock. We raise the puppies in our home so they are bonded with people and socialized right from the start. We do everything we can to make sure your puppy is the very best example of the Australian Labradoole so you will have an incredible family pet to cherish for years to come.
We keep our Doodles groomed and looking good most of the time, that is when they are not chasing squirles or roughhousing in the dirt on the farm!
Below is the puppy room where all the pups are born and raised and also is my office so I can be close at all times.
